Algeria: President Tebboune calls for dissolution of Parliament

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called for the dissolution of the lower house of Parliament and early legislative elections. “I decided to dissolve the assembly and call elections to build a new institution,” he said on Thursday in a speech on state television. In an address to the nation, Tebboune also said he will carry out a government reshuffle within 48 hours, and issued a pardon for dozens of jailed activists of the “Hirak” protest movement.More Related News
