DOHA: Qatar Stars League (QSL) side Al Wakrah on Wednesday announced the signing of Spaniard Miguel Angel as their head coach for the 2024-25 season.
The contract can be renewed for another season, the club announced after Al Wakrah’s Vice President Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Khalifa bin Hassan Al Thani signed the contract with the coach.
Angel last coached Spanish Sporting Gijon while the 39-year-old also served as the manager of Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC.
Besides winning the Qatar Cup title under coach Ali Rahma Al Marri, the Blue Waves finished fourth in the top flight QSL the previous season.
