Tribune News NetworkDohaThe Al Wakra Municipality, represented by the Municipal Control Department, in cooperation with the Mechanical Equipment Department, carried out a campaign to remove building materials waste in the Aba Al Saleel and Birkat Al Awamer areas. One porta cabin and 125 tonnes of mud and gravel used in building work in the Aba Al Saleel area were removed in the operation. In collaboration with a Qatari private sector enterprise, 6,250 tonnes of diverse building rubbish were also collected from the Birkat Al-Awamer area.This step comes within the framework of Al Wakra Municipalityâs endeavours to intensify its monitoring activities on a regular basis, maintain the aesthetic appearance of all areas and prevent health and environmental risks resulting from construction waste.Al Rayyan Municipality, for its part, performed maintenance work on a number of its gardens, which included cutting and trimming the grass in the green areas, pruning palm trees in preparation for the pollination season, and extending the irrigation network with all of its components in the Khalifa Shaâabiyah area, where flowers and trees were planted, with an area of 1,200 square metres.
