Al Sadd beat Spanish side Figueres 5-3 in the first friendly match of the pre-season camp in Olot, Spain on Monday. The Wolves started the game with a lineup consisting of Yousef al-Balushi, Jung Woo-young, Abdulrahman al-Nuaimi, Abdulrahman Rashid, Faisal Azadi, Guilherme Torres, Rodrigo Tabata, Santi Cazorla, Andre Ayew and Baghdad Bounedjah. The first half ended with the Figueres leading by two goals. After the break, new signing Andre Ayew scored Al Sadd’s first goal in the 50th minute. Bounedjah then scored the equaliser in the 60th minute, before Al Sadd went ahead with the third goal by Cazorla from a penalty kick in the 71st. Bounedjah returned and got his second goal and Al Sadd’s fourth in the 75th minute, while substitute Mohamed al-Manai concluded the scoring for the Wolves in the 78th minute. Figueres then pulled a goal back, with the game ending in a 5-3 win for Xavi Hernandez’s side. The second half saw the introduction of Jehad Mohamed, Mohamed al-Manai, Hashim Ali, Abdullah al-Ali, Ahmed Sayyar, Mahdi Salem, Mohamed al-Quraishi, Talal Ateeq, Abdullah al-Yazidi and Moaz al-Wadiya as substitutes.
