Al Khor, Al Thakira intensifies inspection drives at food establishments

The health control department at Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality is intensifying inspection campaigns at food establishments there. The drives, according to an official press statement by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), come as part of the municipality’s preparations to ensure food safety as the holy month of Ramadan approaches. During March, inspection tours have resulted in the detection of 34 violations of Law No 8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control and administrative closure of eight violating shops and restaurants for varying periods in implementation, according to the statement. Last week, the department's doctors and inspectors carried out inspection tours that covered companies producing poultry, eggs and packaged water within the municipality.
