Al-Badr terror nexus busted in Kashmir: Four terrorists, three associates arrested

Three terrorists were nabbed while they were in a meeting to plan attacks on locals and security forces.
A major Al-Badr terror nexus was busted in a series of coordinated joint operations by the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles Battalions, 92 CRPF Battalion, SOG Chijama and PC Rafiabad, late on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Four terrorists and three associates were apprehended, besides the seizure of warlike stores in the joint operations.
Based on specific input, a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in Rawchha village of Rafiabad region in which three terrorists were nabbed while they were in a meeting to plan attacks on locals and security forces. The terrorists were identified by the JKP as Warish Ahmad Tantray, Amir Sultan Wani and Tariq Ahmad Bhat of Al-Badr tanzeem. They were in possession of warlike stores and Rs 2 lakh.
The subsequent interrogation led to the launch of a second specific CASO in Mawar, Handwara, which led to the arrest of three associates of the terrorists. They have been identified by the JKP as Mohd Ashraf Malik, Mohd Afzal Thoker and Shabir Ahmad Shah. Warlike stores and Rs 1,86,500 were recovered from them.
Based on emerging details, a third joint operation was launched in the Seelu area of Sopore to arrest another Al-Badr terrorist, identified by JKP as Ashraf Nazir Bhat. Warlike stores were also recovered from him.
