Akhilesh Yadav slams PM Modi over Saryu project inauguration, calls UP govt 'kainchijivi'

Hitting out at PM Modi over the Saryu project inauguration, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said three-fourths of its work was done during his tenure as UP CM. He also took a dig at the current government by calling it "kanchijivi".

The project was launched in 1978 but got delayed for decades due to "lack of continuity of budgetary support, interdepartmental coordination and adequate monitoring", according to the Centre.
