Akasa Air’s first flight takes off on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route

India's new Akasa Air commenced operations on Sunday. The airline’s first flight took off on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with MoS General Vijay Kumar Singh, flagged off Akasa Air's first commercial flight on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route on Sunday, August 7.
“Congratulations, fly high, fly safe and rule the skies!” wished Scindia to team Akasa at the inaugural event which was held via video conferencing.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, founders Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Vinay Dubey addressed the event.
Akasa Air, whose airline code is QP, launched its operations by offering 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad starting August 7, 2022.
