After large numbers of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation workers stormed NCP Chief Sharad Pawar’s residence on Friday, Maharashtra, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said the mastermind behind this incident will be found out.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, after laying the foundation stone of the Super Speciality Veterinary Hospital, spoke to the media and said that those who had instigated an agitation outside Sharad Pawar’s house would be discovered and brought to light.
When asked about MSRTC workers in large numbers storming outside Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief, Sharad Pawar’s Silver Oak residence in Mumbai, the Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said he had a detailed discussion with the state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and he also with some senior officials in the Maharashtra police.
Mr Pawar said that the Maharashtra Police are doing their part of the investigation. Those who stormed the Silver Oak are citizens of Maharashtra, but Pawar was surprised that all MSRTC workers who had been agitating were satisfied after the HC ruled in their favour.
“They even celebrated their victory. Suddenly this attack raises questions like who instigated them that resulted into a shocking incident, and it needs to be brought to light,” said Pawar.
“I am confident that all of the MSRTC agitators who have been agitating peacefully did not have anything in mind to indulge in such a shameful act, but definitely the mastermind is somebody from outside who has misguided them,” said Mr Pawar, adding that police intelligence are doing their job to identify the mastermind and bring the culprits to light.
The Deputy Chief Minister said, “I am shocked that the agitators already won the battle after the High Court had given its decision in favour of the agitators and, simultaneously, MSRTC workers had celebrated their victory at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.”
Ajit Pawar agreed that it was a bitter truth that police intelligence had miserably failed to gather input about agitators marching from Azad Maidan to Silver Oak. Pawar further emphasised, “If the media could gather input about the attack and be present at Silver Oak to report about it, then why couldn't the police gather this information and act accordingly."
