Apple recently refreshed its AirPods model with a third-gen AirPod, but we are yet to see a new Pro model. Past leaks suggested a launch last year and even this year, but there's no clarity from the company. Ahead of the official confirmation, notable Apple Analyst and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that the new AirPod Pro (2nd-gen) will launch this year, though it may skip an anticipated health feature.
His latest report claims that the AirPod Pro (2nd-gen) will not get a heart-rate sensor or body temperature. This information contradicts his old report from June 2021 that claimed the possibility of a heart rate sensor. He had later backtracked on his prediction in January this year but again highlighted the possibility in April.

Apple has been banking on fitness features a lot recently, amid the global COVID pandemic. With the heart rate sensor on AirPods Pro (2nd-gen), it would've aimed to gain an edge over rivals. However, it will be interesting to see how Apple will promote the new-gen model as the old AirPods Pro already offers great performance.
Meanwhile, Gurman claims that this year's Apple Watch Series 8 will get a body sensor to monitor body temperature. It would let users get warnings if they have a fever. His report adds that Apple Watch Series 8 will get an S8 chipset, which is said to be on par with the S7 chipset on Watch Series 7. It essentially means that the S8 will be almost on par with S6 on Watch 6.
