The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has issued a circular to all the airlines on the need of informing passengers of the regulations related to the disclosure of cash and valuables.
As per the circular, all passengers need to be informed through inflight announcement (prior to arrival) of the regulations pertaining to declaration of cash and valuables when entering or leaving Qatar.
This shall be done in accordance with the instructions of the General Authority of Customs in Qatar.
Any person upon entering or leaving the State of Qatar and in possession of any currency, bearer negotiable instruments, precious metals, or stones equivalent to or exceeding QAR50,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies, must fill the declaration form and hand it over to the Customs Authorities.
