After some of its staff members tested positive and with a footfall of over 3,000 patients, AIIMS Bhubaneswar closed down its walk-in OPD registrations.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar has decided to temporarily close down routine walk-in OPD patient registrations with effect from April 26 to tackle the spread of coronavirus. Speaking to India Today, AIIMS Bhubaneswar superintendent Sachidananda Mohanty said, “Some of our staff tested positive and we were seeing more than 3,000 patients per day. It is not possible to control the crowd when Covid cases are rising in the country.” “However, it is a temporary measure and we are reviewing the situation every week. If things are okay, we will open the OPDs,” he added.More Related News
