The AIADMK staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu state assembly, condemning the black flag protest which was staged against the Governor, RN Ravi, during his visit to Mayiladuthurai on Tuesday.
Opposition leader, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) spoke about the issue in the state assembly and said that the black flag protest and the attack on the Governor's convoy shows the law and order situation in the state.
He said that the police should have ensured that the protesters were not allowed along the route which was to be taken by the Governor or that the protesters should have been removed.
“Even the Governor does not have protection here. How will the common man have any protection,” questioned the senior AIADMK leader.
Protesters in Tamil Nadu’s Mayiladuthurai staged a black flag protest and raised slogans against Governor Ravi during his visit.
The AIADMK and the BJP have condemned this move.
Meanwhile, Governor Ravi's aide-de-camp, Vishwesh B Shastri, who is an IPS officer, said that a complaint had been written to the Director General of Police after the black flag protest.
