Two All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader CV Shanmugam have filed a police complaint over stolen documents from the party office.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) senior leader and MP, CV Shanmugam, has filed a complaint with the Royapetta Police over stolen documents from party headquarters.
Shanmugam has alleged that on July 11 there were clashes between the O Panneerselvam (OPS) and Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) factions. He claimed that following the forced takeover of the AIADMK headquarters, OPS and his supporters took away several important documents, including the land documents of the party head office.
Shanmugam said that a complaint about the attack on AIADMK head office was filed on July 11 and alleged that no action was taken by police so far. He also alleged that the police had failed to act on the complaint given by D Jayakumar on July 8 which led to the attack on the party’s headquarters. "Proper security was not given. Several things have been stolen from the headquarters and this was in the presence of the police under the protection of the police," alleged Shanmugam.

"The AIADMK head office has been sealed and the party has been there for the last 50 years and in power for the last 32 years. This will be the first time in India that a party office will be sealed. The law and order situation has dipped to a low in the state. The CM has lost his eligibility to have the police department under him. There is violence everywhere and the use of drugs. The state is becoming a drug capital," added Shanmugam. On July 21, the seal was removed from the head office and the keys were handed over to the AIADMK EPS faction leaders. "The situation inside the office was shocking. All the doors were broken. OPS claimed that he, who was just a tea seller, was made a CM by Jayalalithaa, and OPS's supporters had broken open the doors of the office and Amma's room by kicking the door. Isn't it shameful for him to call himself an AIADMK member after insulting Amma's memory?" Questioned Shanmugam. He alleged that all rooms were stormed and documents were taken away. He claimed that the documents of the property of the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai, Trichy, and Coimbatore had been stolen by OPS.
The MP said that the documents were stolen and taken in the vehicle in which OPS had come to the office on July 11. The AIADMK demanded that all the stolen documents should be retrieved and action be taken against OPS and his supporters who attacked the office and the cadres on July 11.
