DMK and AIADMK clash over Tamil Nadu's response at World Economic Forum in Davos, with focus on investment proposals.
The DMK and the AIADMK took potshots at each other on Sunday over the response received by Tamil Nadu in the five-day World Economic Forum, which concluded in Davos, Switzerland.
Industries Minister T.R.B Rajaa rejected AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s remark that it was disappointing to know that not even one MoU was signed with any investor at the event.
Mr. Palaniswami cited reports that Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal signed agreements with investors, and questioned whether Tamil Nadu signed any. He also shot down the government’s claims over the investment proposals received.
Mr. Rajaa referred to a report of the Economic Advisory Council submitted to the Prime Minister, which underlined the emergence of Tamil Nadu as the second largest economy in the country. “Tamil Nadu continued to surge under Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s leadership,” he said.
