‘BJP’s decision does not affect our alliance’
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagm will remain in an alliance with the All India N.R. Congress for the local bodies polls in the Union Territory, party secretary, East, A. Anbalagan said on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference, he said the BJP fought the Assembly elections in an alliance with the AINRC and the AIADMK. “If the BJP has decided not to have an alliance with the AINRC for the local bodies polls, it only applies to them. The AIADMK will stay with the AINRC for the local bodies polls,” he said.
Condemning DMK leader Nanjil Sampath for his disrespectful comments against Lt. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Mr. Anbalagan said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister should take stern action against Mr. Sampath for his frequent virulent remarks against leaders.
He also criticised the DMK for staging a protest in the Assembly. The DMK has no right to criticise the National Democratic Alliance for presenting a vote on account as the party remained silent when the previous Congress government presented a similar Budget for five years.
