India is “closely monitoring” the unfolding situation in Afghanistan, said an official of the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday. Addressing the weekly press briefing, spokesperson Arindam Bagchi laid out the position ahead of the UNSC discussion on Afghanistan and said the relation with Afghanistan is guided by the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in 2011. “We are closely monitoring the evolving security situation, and we continue to call for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire. We support an Afghan led, Afghan owned and Afghan controlled peace process,” said Mr. Bagchi at the virtual press conference.More Related News
