Agricultural exhibition to host specialised seminars

A series of specialised seminars will be held virtually during the 8th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and 2nd Qatar International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ) 2021. The event will be organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) from March 23 to 27 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). “What is new in this year’s session is the organisation of scientific and educational forum, a series of virtual specialised seminars via the Internet in conjunction with the exhibition,” said Dr. Muhammad Saif Al Kuwari, Chairman of the Conference Committee for the agricultural and environmental exhibition. Addressing a press conference yesterday, Al Kuwari said more than 30 experts and speakers from 16 countries will be hosted to discuss the most prominent issues and challenges in the agricultural and environmental sectors. “People can follow these sessions through their smart phones and gadgets,” said Al Kuwari.
He said that agenda of discussion includes how to achieve sustainable development in the fields of agricultural and animal production; the development of clean and environmentally friendly technologies in water resources management and wastewater treatment; the role of innovative technology; promoting production and improving its quality; and other issues of concern to various workers in the agricultural and environmental sectors. Dr. Al Kuwari indicated that all these seminars will be broadcast online, and registration will be available for all those wishing to attend, free of charge, in light of adherence to all necessary measures and standards set by the authorities concerned in the country to maintain public health and safety. He said that the activities of the forum include six sessions, and one session consists of two periods, the first period starts from 11am to 12:30pm, while the second period lasts from 4pm to 5:30pm. “A book entitled ‘Conference Presentations’ will also be releases during the conference, which contains working papers, research, and agricultural and environmental studies that will be presented by an Arab and international elite of scientists and researchers, in order to distribute them to the conference guests to spread benefit and knowledge,” said Dr. Al Kuwari.
