Agra sizzles at 41.4 degrees Celsius as UP reels under severe heatwave

Agra on Monday recorded the maximum temperature at 41.4 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest city in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the mercury is expected to rise further from March 30.
As Uttar Pradesh continues to reel under severe heatwave, the maximum temperature in Agra hit 41.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, making it the hottest city in the state.
As per the prediction by the weather department, the mercury is expected to rise further from March 30. The temperature could reach 42 degrees this week, said IMD, adding that there will be a rise in the temperature by five to seven degrees Celsius above normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that isolated heat wave conditions are very likely over Jammu Division and Himachal Pradesh on March 29-30th and over Saurashtra-Kutch, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during March 29- April 2; over south Uttar Pradesh during March 29-31.

Agra was ranked the warmest city in UP as an intense heatwave pushed the maximum temperature to 41.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, followed by Jhansi and Prayagraj at 41 degrees Celsius.
