Just a few years back, Anand Ojha used to stand at the busy road intersections as a traffic cop, working with his team to relieve people from traffic jams. Now, he's a well-known face of Bhojpuri cinema.
Traffic Inspector Anand Kumar Ojha, who is currently posted in Agra, has a story that is similar to the film world. Some time ago a farmer's son followed his dreams and went to Mumbai with a dream to return home only after making it as the king of the acting world, but his farming family background and the lack of a mentor in Bollywood meant that he was doomed to fail.
Ojha told India Today that in 1996, after his intermediate studies, he left for Mumbai by taking Rs 13 from his home and borrowing some money from friends. His passion was to become an actor. With just this dream, he reached Mumbai and started visiting several studios but could not find any work and ended up getting a job of a guard. Ojha worked as a guard for six months.
Even after six months, he did not get a chance in the film world, and having lost hope, he returned home. Anand Ojha's brother, who was in the Indian Railways, asked him to give exam for police recruitment in the year 1999. After passing the exam, he joined the UP Police as a sub-inspector, with his first posting in Ghaziabad. After that, he was posted into the security of the then UP chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Anand Kumar Ojha once went to his village on leave. There, he came to know Bhojpuri movie director Nirmal Pandey is making a movie. Hearing this, Anand met Nirmal Pandey and told him that even though he's in the police, his real dream since the beginning was to act in a movie. Nirmal decided to give him a chance, but as luck would have it, the movie was never completed.
From 2006 to 2007, Anand Kumar Ojha performed at the Bharatiya Natak Sanstha in Bihar. After that, he took martial arts training in Lucknow, where he met Bhojpuri movie star Ravi Kishan and got an offer to work with him. He also got a chance to act in a Bollywood movie with Rahul Roy, which was directed by Dheeraj Kumar.
Now, Anand Kumar Ojha has become a famous name in the Bhojpuri film world. His upcoming films are Muslim Kumbh Nivaran, Herogiri, and Love Express among others.
