Ganga Singh, an Agra resident, is struggling to make ends meet as he has been declared dead in government records.
An 80-year-old man from Agra is trying to prove to government officials that he is indeed alive. Ganga Singh, a resident of Majra Jafar in Mainpuri, has been wrongly declared dead in government records and is now struggling to make ends meet.
Based on these government records, Ganga Singh, who works on his small farm along with his two sons, has been denied an old-age pension for two months now.
The incident came to light on July 3 when Singh went to withdraw his pension amount. He was told by a government official that his pension had stopped because he was declared dead in official records.

Following this, Ganga Singh rushed to the District Social Welfare Office, where an official cross-checked the data and told him he was indeed 'dead'.
When he approached the panchayath, officials informed him that it was a clerical error, that his name popped up in the list and the error would be corrected soon.
