Agra custodial death: 5 policemen suspended, ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh announced for family of deceased

The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Agra man who died in police custody. Five policemen were also suspended.

Following the uproar over the custodial death of a man in Agra, the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased. The state police department also suspended five policemen.

According to sources, Arun Valmiki was arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 25 lakh at Jagdishpura police station in Agra on Saturday night.
