After Sivakumar and Siddaramaiah, SR Patil also in Karnataka Congress's CM face race

SR Patil has joined the race for the post of Karnataka chief minister along with state unit chief D Sivakumar and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah.
Former chief minister of Karnataka M Veerappa Moily on Sunday said SR Patil would be an ideal candidate for the post of CM.
The announcement comes amid the apparent rift in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress as state unit chief DK Shivakumar hinted at becoming the chief minister of the state with the support of the Vokkaliga community two weeks ago.
So far, Siddaramaiah has been touted to be Karnataka’s CM’s face for Congress.
Moily also recommended Congress leader SR Patil’s name for the post of PCC president.
“In my opinion, one of the most capable Congress leaders is SR Patil. I had even recommended him to be made PCC president, he is also an ideal person to be made Karnataka CM,” Veerappa Moily said at Patil's birthday celebrations on Sunday (July 31).
