After seeing Deepak Chahar set tone, I decided to pitch the ball up: Arshdeep Singh after 1st T20I vs South Africa

IND vs SA, 1st T20I: Arshdeep Singh won the Player of the Match award after he finished with figures of 4-0-32-3 in the first match of the series on Wednesday.
Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh said that he didn’t expect a whole lot of swing in India’s first T20I against South Africa on Wednesday, September 28 in Trivandrum.
The left-armer became the Player of the Match after he finished with figures of 4-0-32-3. Barring the last over where he conceded 17 runs, the southpaw was outstanding, to say the least.
Arshdeep bowled three overs in the powerplay and picked up the all-important wickets of Quinton de Kock, Rilee Rossouw and David Miller.
The Proteas were reduced to 9/5 in 2.3 overs after Arshdeep made inroads into the opposition batting by getting to swing the ball both ways.
“I didn’t expect the ball to swing much today. It’s all about adapting to the situation at the earliest. The team demanded three overs from me in the beginning and it was necessary for me to live up to the expectations,” Arshdeep was quoted as saying to bowling coach Paras Mhambrey in a video uploaded on BCCI’s official website.
The 23-year-old Arshdeep said that India took full advantage of the favourable bowling conditions after opting to field first.
