Akshay Kumar, at Cuttputlli trailer launch, spoke about why films are not doing well. The actor's last three releases, including Raksha Bandhan, have been box office duds.
After Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Rakshan Bandhan, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Cuttputlli. Career-wise, this year hasn’t been favouring the actor. But this might just change with his Disney+ Hotstar release, Cuttputlli. At the film’s trailer launch, Akshay spoke about films not doing well and why many ‘mindless comedies’ of the actor have worked in the past.
Akshay Kumar has only seen box office failures this year. During the Cuttputlli trailer launch, the actor spoke about why films are not doing well. He said, “Films are not working, it is our fault, it is my fault. I have to make the changes. I have to understand what the audience wants. I want to do my changes. I want to dismantle my way. He said he should rather focus on the kind of films I should do. Nobody else is to be blamed but me.”
Akshay Kumar also went on to say how people’s mood plays a huge factor in determining a film’s future. He went on to say that many of his past mindless comedies have worked with the audience. He said, “It all depends on people’s moods, what they want to see. Sometimes it does work. Even a mindless comedy, if it is given in the right way, and if the audience is in a mood, your film can click. I have seen it in my career, many films like that working. So I think it all depends on what kind of a mood is my audience in.”
While Raksha Bandhan released on August 11, Cuttputlli releases on September 2 on Disney+ Hotstar.
