A Ukrainian government building in Mykolaiv was attacked by Russian forces. Houses in several villages in this area were also reduced to rubble following Russian bombing. Here's a ground report from Mykolaiv.
Ukraine sees no relief in sight as Russian forces continue to intensify their aggression in the war-torn country. After Kharkiv, Kherson, Bucha, Mariupol, Chernihiv and Odesa, haunting images from the Ukrainian town of Bashtanka in Mykolaiv Oblast reveal the atrocities residents there have been exposed to. Here's a ground report.
On April 1, Russian forces had entered the Bashtanka town with tanks and allegedly killed and fired indiscriminately in the region, setting local shops on fire.
The Russian troops attacked four pharmacies in a market and patrolled the town before they were driven out by Ukrainian forces.
"We were very scared and stayed indoors. We were told that you have been locked inside. Sometime later, we went outside and saw only one tank which was constantly targeting chemist shops," Yuri, a bakery owner in the area, told India Today TV.

Even as the combat between the Russian and Ukrainian forces continues on the outskirts of the town, visuals from another village in Mykolaiv show houses reduced to rubble.
"We heard big explosions, we were going underground to wait. After we... check what's happened, we saw broken windows, so much damage...all trees were cut...four-five houses were destroyed...We somebody shooting from a machine gun," a resident, whose wife sustained serious injuries, said.
