A 24-year-old economics graduate has set up her own tea stall in Patna after she failed to get a job. Priyanka Gupta has been running a tea stall near Patna Women's College.
It was not easy for 24-year-old Priyanka Gupta to give up on her dreams to crack government exams and sell tea in Bihar's capital, Patna. Gupta, a native of Purnia district in Bihar, has been running a tea stall near Patna Women's College after she failed to clear the bank competitive exams despite her hard work for two years.
A graduate from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi, Priyanka, a chaiwali, started selling tea from April 11 this year and has been drawing a good number of customers to her stall.
"For the past two years, I have been trying continuously to clear the bank competitive exams but in vain. So, instead of going back home, I decided to set up my tea stall in Patna on a hand cart. I am not hesitant to set up my own tea stall in the city and I view this business as a step towards Atamnirbhar Bharat," Priyanka told India Today, adding that her target customers are the students of the college.
Priyanaka considers Prafull Billore, who runs a tea shop in Ahmedabad, as her role model. Billore started a tea shop despite doing an MBA and now he owns a huge business.
The 24-year-old uses interesting punchlines like Prafull Billore such as “Peena hi padega” and “Soch mat.. chalu kar de bas” to attract customers to the tea stall.
“I consider Praful Billor as my role model. I used to take inspiration after watching his videos, after which I thought of setting up a tea shop in Patna”, says Priyanka Gupta.
Giving details about her journey, Priyanka said, "I came to Patna on January 30 with the consent of my family to study. But for two months, I started visiting tea stalls to understand the business and also conducted market research.
