
After arrests of Partha, Anubrata, Bengal CM calls for moral value course in schools

Addressing the 'Shiksharatna' award program in Kolkata on Monday, Mamata Banerjee called for the introduction of a moral value course in schools.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee advocated for courses on moral values in school syllabus. Addressing an event on Teacher’s Day, Mamata Banerjee advised the education department to start a course on moral values so that students focus on character building rather than money accumulation.
The West Bengal chief minister’s remark comes in the backdrop of arrests of Partha Chatterjee and Anubrata Mondal in the past couple of months
Advocating an introduction of character-building classes in schools, Mamata Banerjee said, “How much money I have acquired is not important.”
She added, “If one person makes a mistake, you cannot blame the whole society for that person.”
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said she is worried about paying the labourers for 100 days of work. Mamata Banerjee expressed concerns over the state treasury, accusing the Centre of not disbursing funds to the state for payment of wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA).
“I am unable to sleep at night thinking about whether I will be able to pay labourers for 100 days. We are working with so much humiliation here. I am unable to sleep thinking about whether I will be able to give money to labourers as they (the Centre) have taken tax from us. Do we have money in treasury? ,” Mamata Banerjee said during a 'Shiksharatna' award program in Kolkata on Monday.
