The Rama Prasad Goenka Group, or RPG Group, extended support to future Agniveers on Monday after Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra promised to hire Agniveers.
Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Enterprises, on Monday joined fellow industrialist Anand Mahindra in promising employment to Agniveers amid widespread opposition to the Centre's Agnipath scheme.
Earlier in the day, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra expressed dismay over the violence against the scheme and asserted that the farm equipment to aerospace conglomerate welcomes the opportunity to recruit trained, capable and young people under the programme.
“Saddened by the violence around the Agneepath program. When the scheme was mooted last year, I stated- and I repeat-the discipline and skills Agniveers gain will make them eminently employable. The Mahindra Group welcomes the opportunity to recruit such trained, capable young people," Anand Mahindra wrote.

Echoing similar sentiments, RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka tweeted, "The RPG group too welcomes the opportunity to employ the Agniveers. I do hope other corporates will also join us to take this pledge and assure our youths of a future."
