A robotic team from Gujarat has been roped in to rescue an 11-year-old boy, who fell into an 80-foot deep abandoned borewell in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district on Friday. More than 39 hours after a speech and hearing impaired boy fell into a deep borewell, rescue operations are underway for the third consecutive day on Sunday to retrieve the victim. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that instructions were given to a team of specialised robots in Surat to be pressed into the rescue operation. He said that a Gujarat resident, Mahesh Ahir, tweeted that his invention- a borewell rescue robot- can help save Rahul. The state government got in touch with him to get his assistance in saving the child.
