After 3 murders in 24 hours, Bihar BJP MLAs bat for UP's encounter model

Three BJP MLAs in Bihar have defended killing of criminals in police encounters after three incidents of murders were shocked the state in 24 hours. They cited Uttar Pradesh’s precedent to check crime in Bihar.
BJP MLA Pawan Jaiswal has said Bihar should adopt the ‘encounter model’ of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh to check incidents of crime in the state. He is not alone in advocating the ‘encounter model’ to control the law-and-order situation in Bihar. Two other BJP MLAs have made a similar demand. Pawan Jaiswal said, “It has become very important to implement the UP model in Bihar so that such incidents can be curbed.” His remarks came in the backdrop of three incidents of murders that shocked Bihar in the past 24 hours. An LIC officer was beaten to death in Nalanda. A woman was shot in Patna after she protested molestation of her daughter. And, a ward member was killed in Chhapra in the Saran district of Bihar.More Related News
