Afghanistan top focus in India’s bilateral meetings with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan
India Today
The bilateral discussions hosted by NSA Ajit Doval focused on the rising terrorist threats from Afghanistan, the looming “humanitarian crisis”, and the need for internal recognition of any Afghan government before international acceptance.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will host the security chiefs/secretaries of seven nations on Wednesday, November 10, to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. Ahead of the NSA-level meet on Wednesday, Ajit Doval held bilateral interactions on Tuesday with his counterparts from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Afghanistan emerged as the major focus of both discussions. In August of this year, the Taliban overthrew the government of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and took control of the country.
