Afghanistan's Taliban, through their Virtue and Vice ministry, set a new rule forcing female news anchors to cover their faces while on TV.
International human rights groups voiced concern the Taliban would re-impose strict regulations on women after seizing power last year.
Between 1996 and 2001, during the Taliban’s last time in power, women were banned from much of public life and education.
