Aditi Rao Hydari and Dulquer Salmaan's romantic comedy, Hey Sinamika, released in theatres on March 3. The film is currently creating waves at the box office. Hey Sinamika gives an insight into the lives of the three characters - Mouna (played by Aditi Rao Hydari), Yaazhan (Dulquer Salmaan), and Malarvizhi (Kajal Aggarwal). Recently, during an interaction with India.Today.in, Aditi shared the reason behind doing the film, working with Dulquer Salmaan, and more.
Excerpts from the interview:
In the past two years, Aditi Rao Hydari has been a part of exceptional roles. She has also been lauded for her choice of films. Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, Aditi shared three reasons behind taking Hey Sinamika. She said, "One, I just wanted to do the film because of Brinda master (director). I adore her. I have worked with her in Mani (Ratnam) sir's films. The second reason is Dulquer Salmaan. I was looking forward to working with him. We have been friends and we use to always wonder when will someone offer this kind of film to both of us. We never suggested each other’s names to anybody. We said organically 'hona chahiye' so this was the best way to happen.”
She further added, “The third reason was the script. The reason I said yes to this film was that it was a love story. I love doing love stories and in that mode of a love story, I was getting to play the character of Mouna who is a badmash. She is very naughty, mischievous, and almost immature. What I loved about this story was that it is the coming of the age story of Yaazhan and Mouna that is Dulquer and my name in the film. It's coming of the age of them personally as well as in their relationship. When you have a story like that, there is a big growth of the character. There is a huge roller coaster that the characters go through and as an actor, it is always fun to do films like that.”
Aditi split beans on the behind-the-scenes (BTS) fun. She shared, “We enjoyed ourselves when we were shooting. We used to laugh all the time. People were in splits on-set. The emotional scenes that we were asked to do, people used to be in tears. So, we don’t know if the audience will react in the same way but we hope and indeed they have. We really have to thank them for feeling what we did when we were making the film."
