Actor Gary Sinise 'trying to bring the country together' with National Memorial Day Concert

Actor Gary Sinise discussed the efforts of the Gary Sinise Foundation in supporting veterans with "specially adapted smart technology" mortgage-free homes on the eve of Memorial Day this year.
Since 2005, Sinise has co-hosted the National Memorial Day Concert with fellow actor Joe Mantegna. Sinise explained how in 2005 he was on a United Service Organizations (USO) tour playing with his band for troops overseas and flew to Washington, D.C. in May 2005 to perform in that year’s National Memorial Day Concert. "It hooked me. I mean, that was, that became the best thing I could do," he said. "Trying to bring the country together, with this National Memorial Day Concert, and I've come back every year since." He added, this year’s concert will feature a 90-minute show with a "tremendous" cast, actors, singers, and the national Symphony Orchestra.
