Actor assault case: Dileep questioned for 7 hours, denies all charges

Actor Dileep was questioned by police after Kerala Crime Branch launched a further probe in the case. Dileep is being questioned again against the backdrop of new evidence including statements made by director Balachandra Kumar.
Kerala Crime Branch team investigating the 2017 actor assault case questioned Dileep for the second day. On Monday, the interrogation lasted for seven hours. Actor Dileep has denied his involvement in the conspiracy and the crime.
Dileep arrived at Aluva Police Club on Tuesday morning. A further investigation was launched after Dileep's former friend Balachandra Kumar came out with audio clips allegedly belonging to Dileep, where the actor threatens and plans an attack on the investigation officers of actor assault case.

The director also alleged that Dileep watched the assault visuals at his home. During the questioning that lasted seven hours, Dileep was grilled about the director's statement.
Dileep is said to have refuted all charges. Crime Branch ADGP S Sreejith, SP M J Sojan and inquiry officer in the actor assault case, Baiju M Paulose headed the interrogation.
The questioning was aimed at finding out if Dileep was in possession of the visuals of the crime. The team also wanted to find out more about Dileep's alleged role in 20 witnesses switching sides during the trial. Dileep alleged that the director came up with the elaborate ruse after he refused to give in to his blackmail attempts.
The actress was abducted and allegedly molested in her car for two hours by the accused, who had forced their way into the vehicle on the night of February 17, 2017. The entire act was filmed by them to blackmail the actress.
