Dileep approached the Supreme Court demanding a quick trial in the actor assault case.
Actor Dileep approached the Supreme Court demanding a quick trial in the actor assault case. The actor in his statement to the apex court said that as many as 202 witnesses have been examined so far.Dileep alleges that the demand for continued investigation is to delay the trial.
Dileep's plea comes in response to the state government's petition to give more time for the trial of the case.
On Saturday, the Kerala High Court has directed police not to arrest the accused in a case till January 27 for allegedly threatening investigation officers probing the actor sexual assault.
While hearing the anticipatory bail plea filed by actor Dileep, the bench observed that conspiracy is equal to committing the crime.
On January 9, the police had registered a case on a complaint by an investigating officer based on a purported audio clip in which Dileep was heard conspiring to attack officials investigating the sexual assault case back in 2017.
The victim -- an actress who worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films -- was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours by some of the accused, who had forced their way into the vehicle on the night of February 17, 2017 and later escaped in a busy area.
