Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's film Acharya witnessed a huge drop on Day 2. The film released in the theaters worldwide on April 29.
Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s Acharya was much awaited by fans. The film opened with much fanfare on April 29. The father-son duo’s craze helped the film open big in the South. Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Pooja Hegde and Sonu Sood. After a rather weak start at the box office, the film failed to pick up the momentum on its second day.
Acharya has received mixed responses from critics. It earned Rs 7.99 crore on Day 1, April 29 in Nizam. Worldwide, it earned Rs 53 crore. However, Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's film failed to pick up pace on its second day. It recorded a huge drop. Seeing the mixed response, the film may see a significant drop in the weekdays. Meanwhile, Acharya released in over 2,000 theatres worldwide. Bookings for the film began four days ago.
Box Office Karnataka reported, "#Acharya Karnataka BO Day 2 stats. Gross: 0.82C Nett: 0.69C Total gross: 3.13C Total nett: 2.64C. Except few multiplexes shows in Bengaluru, the movie has failed to grab audience into theatres. Many shows were cancelled all over KA. Heading towards collusive disaster (sic)."
