Accused Gilgo killer Rex Heuermann’s estranged wife arrives at LI court weeks after insisting he’s ‘not capable’ of serial murders

The estranged wife of suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann showed up at a Long Island court Wednesday for his latest court hearing.
Asa Ellerup was spotted pulling up to Suffolk County Supreme Court in Riverhead in a black Mercedes ahead of the scheduled 9:30 a.m. appearance.
Heuermann has been holed up in jail ever since his arrest last July over the slayings of four women whose bodies were found buried close to each other on a remote stretch of Gilgo Beach back in 2010.
A sunglass-clad Ellerup, who filed for divorce just days after his arrest, refused to comment when asked why she’d fronted up to court for the hearing.
Her appearance comes just weeks after she insisted her hubby of 27 years was “not capable” of carrying out the four murders and that she was giving him “the benefit of the doubt.”
“I will listen to all of the evidence and withhold judgment until the end of trial,” Ellerup said in a statement issued by her lawyers.
