Abhishek Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui released in theatres on December 10. In the film, Ayushmann Khurrana plays a heterosexual cross-functional athlete and Vaani Kapoor essays the role of a trans Zumba teacher. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, director Abhishek Kapoor talked about the film’s daring subject, his style of filmmaking and the lead actors’ performances.
Abhishek, whose last film release before Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Kedarnath in 2018, also talked about the tragedy behind the actor’s death. Sushant made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek's Kai Po Che in 2013.
