Abandoned with baby at 18, Kerala woman fights all odds to become a cop

Thirty-one-year-old Anie Siva from Kerala was abandoned with her baby at the age of 18. She sold lemonade and ice cream to survive. However, she has set an example now by becoming a police officer.
Anie Siva was abandoned by her husband at the age of 18 along with her child. She had married him against the will of her family. Left to fend for herself, Anie Siva took to selling lemonade and ice cream to tourists in Kerala's Varkala. She did not let her obstacles stop her from dreaming big. She is now a police inspector at Varkala. Congratulating Anie Siva on her success, Kerala Police tweeted, "A true model of willpower and confidence. An 18-year-old girl who was left on the streets with her 6-month-old baby after being abandoned by her husband and family has become Sub Inspector at Varkala police station."More Related News
