Angel Carter Conrad, twin sister of the late Aaron Carter and younger sister of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, shares her focus on mental health advocacy after loss of her siblings.
"After Aaron passed away in November of 2022, a fire lit inside of me to want to continue the conversation about mental health," she told Fox News Digital. "At the time, it was my second sibling who had passed away. So, I really wanted to do something to honor Aaron in a way that would be meaningful to society and to really do something to continue the conversation about mental health." "After Aaron passed away in November of 2022, a fire lit inside of me to want to continue the conversation about mental health." "… When fame and money came into it, everything got swept under the rug because my parents didn't want to mess anything up with what was going on with Nick and Aaron." "I had spent years in therapy thinking that Aaron was going to die. ... So, this wasn't something that just happened in the last few years."
Carter Conrad, along with Nick, began working with the nonprofit Kids Mental Health Foundation (formerly On Our Sleeves), an initiative of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, to raise awareness of the importance of children’s mental health.
