Amarinder Singh calls Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann a ‘rubber stamp’
The AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) came under attack from the Opposition parties on Tuesday after its chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with top officials of the Punjab government in Delhi on Monday.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said Mr. Kejriwal had taken over the Punjab government, and called Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann a “rubber stamp”.
“Worst was feared, worst happened. @ArvindKejriwal has taken over Punjab much before it was expected to happen. That @BhagwantMann is a rubber stamp was a foregone conclusion already, now Kejriwal has proved it right by chairing Punjab officers’ meeting in Delhi,” Mr. Singh tweeted.
Former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu also attacked the AAP and termed it an insult to “Punjabi pride”. “Punjab’s IAS officers summoned by @ArvindKejriwal in CM @BhagwantMann ’s absence. This exposes the Defacto CM & Delhi remote control. Clear breach of federalism, insult to Punjabi pride. Both must clarify,” he said in a tweet.
Mr. Mann is in Delhi on Tuesday and is expected to meet Mr. Kejriwal.
