AAP not in race, poll battle only with Congress, says BJP ahead of JP Nadda's Gujarat visit
India Today
The BJP on Monday claimed that the poll battle is between the BJP and the Congress in Gujarat, ahead of party president JP Nadda's two-day visit.
Ahead of BJP national President JP Nadda's two-day Gujarat visit, the BJP said that the poll battle is only between the saffron party and the Congress, downplaying the entry of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) into the Gujarat poll arena.
JP Nadda will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat beginning Tuesday during which he will participate in a host of events and hold meetings with local leaders, a party leader said on Monday.
"In Gujarat there will be a fight between the BJP and Congress. Several other parties in the past too came to fight elections in Gujarat but did not survive. The fight is between the BJP and Congress and, even this time, Congress is very much behind. The BJP will win by a huge margin. This election, we will get the highest number of seats," Gujarat BJP general secretary Pradipsinh Vaghela told India Today.
