AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch, a unit of Delhi Police, on Friday. Amanatullah Khan was arrested following recovery of "incriminating material and evidence against him" during the searches conducted today.
Amanatullah Khan was arrested after raids in connection with irregularities in Delhi Waqf Board recruitment.
The Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch on Friday conducted searches at AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan's house and his other locations and seized Rs 12 lakh as well as an unlicensed weapon.
The ACB is probing alleged irregularities in the recruitment in the Delhi Waqf board.
The anti-corruption branch questioned Amanatullah Khan in connection with the two-year-old corruption case. The Okhla MLA was called for questioning at 12 pm in connection with a 2020 case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
POLICE TEAM ATTACKED OUTSIDE AMANATULLAH KHAN'S HOUSE
A search team consisting of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was attacked outside the residence of Amanatullah Khan. The crowd gathered outside the AAP MLA’s residence also caused obstruction in discharge of government duty, officials said.
