AAP Gujarat's new organisational structure to fight against BJP, however, has led to an infight in the party.
Gujarat unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has formed a new organisational structure to fight against BJP, however, it has led to an infight in the party.
Some leaders have resigned from their posts in the party, while several others have threatened to quit. Gujarat AAP in-charge Sandeep Pathak has called a high level meeting to resolve the matter at the earliest before the visit of Arvind Kejriwal to Gujarat on June 26.
It seems that all is not well in Gujarat AAP after the announcement of first list of the new organisational unit. On June 8, Gujarat AAP dissolved its entire organisational unit saying they are coming up with a new powerful structure and strategy to fight BJP.
The first list of the new organisational unit was announced on June 12. However, many leaders from South Gujarat and North Gujarat are upset with the new list.
Major problems internally in the new announcement are that leaders from North Gujarat, who are part of party's Gujarat unit since the inception, were not given good place in the party and infact they were sidelined. Major representatives are from South Gujarat, mainly Surat.
North Gujarat does not have major representation. Party leaders are unhappy with the new list, they said that none of the leaders have been given posts on the basis of merits, and also alleged that new joinees from Congress have been given important posts.
Some of the leaders who are not happy are Bhema Chaudhari from North Gujarat, CA Jaydeep Pandya from Ahmedabad, Abhishek Patel from Ahmedabad, Mahesh Gamit and Umesh Patel from South Gujarat. From Bharuch over 40 party leaders have threatened not to work if changes are not carried out.
