AAP, BJP lock horns after CWG medal winner accuses Delhi govt of ignoring help pleas

AAP and BJP are engaged in a war of words after wrestler Divya Kakran claimed that she had not received any help from the Delhi government. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari visited Kakran's residence and handed cash prize to her.
After Indian wrestler Divya Kakran claimed that the Delhi government did not provide any financial assistance to her, it kicked up a political storm between the AAP and the BJP. Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze medallist wrestler Divya Kakran came down heavily on the Delhi government, accusing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of not keeping his promise to help her.
Kakran had taken to Twitter, saying that she had not received any help from the Delhi government, though she has been living in the city for 20 years and has been training there.
"I thank the honourable Chief Minister from the bottom of my heart for congratulating me. I have been living in Delhi for the past 20 years and have been training here, but till now I have not been awarded any money or received any help from the state government. It is my request that you honour me the way you honour players from Delhi who represent other states," she tweeted in response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's congratulatory message for her latest win.

After Kakran said on Twitter that she had not received any help from the Delhi government, AAP leader and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj had said that she has always represented Uttar Pradesh and he does not remember her having played for Delhi. He went on to post pictures of news articles which said that Kakran represents Uttar Pradesh.
