A trip to Paris, a cheese Omelette and 75 off 30 balls: James Neesham's spectacular debut in T20 blast

James Neesham took a short journey to Paris from UK after a visa complication but he returned to Northampton hours ahead of his T20 Blast debut against Leicestershire.
Jimmy Neesham's destructive 75 not out combined with Chris Lynn's hundred helped Northamptonshire seal a comfortable 42-run victory over Leicestershire in the T20 blast game. Neesham's 30-ball knock included a five fours and 6 sixes and propelled the side to a commanding 227/1. Neesham also sealed the deal for his side with a decisive 17th over claiming two wickets, including that of Steel on 64.
Neesham flew to the UK from India with Trent Boult, who joined the New Zealand Test squad in London, on Monday but a complication with his visa saw him make the short journey to Paris in order to sort out his paperwork before he returned to Northampton a few hours before their fixture against Leicestershire at Wantage Road.
Neesham travelled from Paris and landed in Northampton only hours ahead of the match against Leicestershire.
"I actually mucked my visa up a little bit, so I had to fly to Paris after I got here," Neesham told Northamptonshire's YouTube channel, SteelbacksTV. "I
woke up this morning and had an omelette du fromage [cheese omelette] in Paris, then hopped on a plane and landed at about midday.
"I got a bit of sleep and then came to the ground. I was thinking if I could get through three or four overs and have no injuries and have a bit of a hit, I'd be pretty happy."
Nesham picked up 2 crucial wickets in the 17th over, including that of opener Scott Steel who hit a quickfire 64 as Leicestershire fell short of a 227-run total by 42 runs.
