According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the incident happened when the minor identified as Prateek Kumar was returning home from his uncle’s house in Greater Noida along with his parents.
It was when the family tried crossing the road to catch a cab that a speeding car knocked Prateek down. Injured, the Class 2 student was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Later, the family of the deceased approached Dankaur police station to file a complaint against the driver and an FIR was registered.
As per TOI reports, Sudhir Kumar, the SHO of Dankaur said the accused identified as Rishipal Singh, a resident of Dankaur’s Changauli village, has been arrested, adding that the car had also been seized.
In the second road accident in Dankaur, a 75-year-old man identified as Prabhu Singh was killed after he fell off his grandson’s bike after being hit by a speeding car.
The incident happened when the duo was travelling to a nearby market. Prabhu succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
