8 dead, 12 critical after head-on collision of bus, truck in UP's Lakhimpur Kheri

As many as eight people have died and 12 others have been injured after a bus collided with a truck head-on in UP's Lakhimpur Kheri.
A private bus ferrying 50 passengers collided with a truck head-on, resulting in eight deaths and critical injuries to 12 others in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri.
The accident occurred on a bridge over the Sharda river on Wednesday.
The bus was on its way to Lakhimpur from Dhaurhara when it met with an accident. At around 7:30 am, the bus and truck, both heading to Bahraich, collided head-on on the bridge near Isanagar police station.
As many as six people inside the bus died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. The injured have been admitted for treatment to a nearby health facility, of which the conditions of 12 remain critical.
